Terry ORourke, MD, joined Centura Health (Englewood, Colorado) as corporate chief medical officer. ORourke is a surgeon who has practiced in Colorado Springs, Colorado, for the past 28 years, primarily at Penrose Hospital. He has served as a Centura board member and chair since its founding in 1996. Centura Health is Colorados largest healthcare system, operating 12 hospitals, eight senior living residences, medical clinics, and home care and hospice services.

CompONE (Oklahoma City) named J. Paul OHaro CEO and Charles Prater CFO. Jeff Greene, the current CEO, will remain as board chairman of the board and will function as an advisor to the company. OHaro joins CompONE from Per-Se Technologies, where he was regional vice president. Prater, who will replace retiring co-founder Cliff Winburn, most recently was president and CEO of Assurance Resource Co. CompONE describes itself as the largest paperless medical billing and practice management service in the country and the only medical billing firm to own and operate a physician credentialing verification organization.

David Carlucci has been named CEO and a director of IMS Health (Fairfield, Connecticut), effective Jan. 1. Carlucci currently is president and COO of IMS. He has been with the company since October 2002. Carlucci succeeds David Thomas, who remains chairman of the board. Operating in more than 100 countries, IMS Health is a provider of information solutions to the pharmaceutical and healthcare industries.

Steve Curd has been appointed CEO of VantageMed (Rancho Cordova, California). Curd previously served as COO and chief information officer at Healtheon/WebMD. VantageMed is a provider of healthcare information systems and services distributed to more than 12,000 customer sites nationwide.
