Holland & Hart named Jude Biggs as administrative partner for the Boulder office. Aaron Pomeroy has joined the firm's tax and estates practice group as an associate. In addition, Tom Sansonetti, a former partner of the firm and previously assistant attorney general of the environment and natural resources division of the Department of Justice, has rejoined the firm. He will work out of the Cheyenne office. . . Snell & Wilmer added attorney Sherin Sakr to its Denver office. She will concentrate in estate planning. Noteworthy

JVA's civil and structural engineering departments are working with the Sky Ranch Metropolitan District No. 2 and Garney Construction for the design/build of a new regional wastewater treatment facility in Arapahoe County. Environmental engineers at the firm are also working on wastewater treatment plant performance evaluations and capital improvements for the town of Bennett and the Aspen Consolidated Sanitation District. . . . Frank Kuchyt, of Littleton, a general manager of the Olive Garden in Thornton, studied for a week at the company's Culinary Institute of Tuscany. . . . The American Animal Hospital Association honored Belcaro Animal Hospital for its 50-year commitment to excellence in small animal care. . . . The Russell T. Michael Katz, vice president of commercial banking for U.S. Bank in Denver, is among the top 5 percent of approximately 400 U.S. Bank commercial bankers who were honored for excellent performance in 2004. Europa Home Collection opened at 310 Steele St., Denver. . . . MBD has opened a new business technology center called The Works at 3003 Arapahoe St. . . . CTL[bar]Thompson has added 5,000 square feet of office and laboratory space to its existing 10,000-square-foot location in Colorado Springs. The new space will accommodate expanded engineering capabilities.

James F. Buckles was named executive director of the Rocky Mountain chapter of the Juvenile Diabetes Research Foundation. Based in Denver, he will oversee the activities of JDRF in Colorado and areas of Wyoming and Montana. . . . Centura Health appointed the following executives: Erin Denholm was named chief executive officer of Centura Health at Home. Karen Hoskins was named chief executive officer of Centura Health Senior Services; Bob Fling, vice president, construction; Jackie Driscoll, vice president of payor relations for the revenue management division; and Robert Friedman, vice president of performance solutions in the revenue management division. . . . Grants

The Heuga Center, a national nonprofit organization based in Edwards, was awarded a $25,000 grant from HealthOne Alliance to support educational and wellness programs for people and families living with multiple sclerosis. The grant will be used to support a five-day CAN DO program, to be held in Vail on Oct. 9-11 and a one-day JUMPSTART program that will be held, tentatively, May 21 in Denver. . . . LMC Community Foundation received two grants on behalf of Exempla Lutheran Medical Center totaling $150,000 from the Boettcher Foundation and the Caring for Colorado Foundation. Both grants will support LMC Community Foundation's $7.5 million capital campaign to construct a 24-private room hospice care center on the campus of Exempla Lutheran Medical Center in Wheat Ridge. . . . ADA Technologies was awarded two Small Business Innovation Research grants totaling $825,000. The U.S. Navy, Naval Sea Systems Command, awarded the company $600,000 for Phase II research related to development of an effective technology to treat contaminated bilge water. A $225,000 grant from the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency is for development of a reactive scrubbing technology to remove mercury from low volume gas streams. . . . McKesson Health Solutions and McKesson Provider Technologies, both business units of McKesson Corp., awarded a total of $50,000 in grants to eight Denver-area nonprofit organizations: Alicia Sanchez Elementary, Lafayette; Clinica Campesina Family Health Services, Lafayette; Denver Health and Hospitals Foundation; The Haven-Addiction Research and Treatment Services; Inner City Health Center; Mount Saint Vincent Home; Rocky Mountain Youth MNC; and SafeHouse Denver.
